I'm leaving tomorrow. Layover in Zurich then flight to Florence.

How did this sneak up on me so fast?

The date just caught my eye, and I can't even believe that I'm leaving for Italy soon. It doesn't feel even remotely real that I'm heading to Europe to live for the semester. One of my friends is already abroad in Granada and having an amazing time, and I'm hoping it'll go the same for me. Not to sound like a small child, but I've never been away from home for that long, and I'm sure a month in or so I'll have this surprise feeling of "wow...I'm actually living here, not on vacation, and not going home any time soon." But I'm definitely looking forward to going and I'm sure it'll be great.

On Thursday I'm heading into the city probably for the last time before I go off to Florence...I have to pick up my visa, which I feel like has been one of the biggest pain in the ass processes to get. But it's almost over--all I have to do is show up and they give me my passport back with a stamp or something in it that says I can live in Florence legally...I'm sure the stamp won't feel worth the effort. I have so many random things I have to get done before I leave and am hoping I can do all of them; one of the simplest things on my figurative checklist involves simply cleaning my room...there's all kinds of crap in here and it really needs to be done before I leave.

Anyways, I have nothing more exciting to say, but figured I'd write on here one more time before I leave.
